César Award Winner
Country House Hotel
of the Year 2016
Hotel Endsleigh were delighted to be announced as Country House Hotel of the year at the Good Hotel Guide César awards 2016.
Named after the legendary Swiss hotelier César Ritz, each year ten César Awards are presented to the Guides most celebrated hoteliers.
The Césars are the Oscars of the hotel industry. The award is much valued because hotels cannot buy entry. The awards are based on readers’ reports backed up by independent expert inspection.
On the banks of the River Tamar, the 19th century fishing lodge is today an ‘unpretentious and comfortable’ family-friendly luxury hotel owned by Olga Polizzi. She has restored the building ‘with charm and taste’, said guide inspectors, who found it ‘a glorious place, run with a generous spirit’.
Adam Cornish, General manager:
Every year, there are a handful of hotels that make it to the top of the Good Hotel Guide and Hotel Endsleigh were ecstatic to hear we had won for Best Country House Hotel against some fantastic competition.
