Porter

Located near to Tavistock on the Devon/Cornwall border. Hotel Endsleigh, owned by Olga Polizzi, is a beautiful Grade I listed country house hotel set in 108 acres of woodland and gardens.

We are looking for a Hotel Porter who can handle a variety of tasks, whilst also delivering a high level of customer service.

In this job you would need great customer service skills and have a smart appearance. This is a very hands-on, physically demanding role, ensuring the high standards of the Hotel are maintained. The ideal candidate for this position has a positive attitude and is dedicated to making each guest’s stay as pleasant as possible.

Main duties and responsibilities include:
• To be present at the Reception desk or in the front hall to assist guests, colleagues and visitors when requested.
• Ensure collection and delivery of guest luggage in an efficient and timely manner.
• Guide guests to rooms, placing luggage in room assigned by front desk.
• Informing guests of room amenities.
• Deliver messages, packages and flowers to guests’ rooms.
• Respond to guest requests and queries providing a knowledgeable, efficient and helpful information service.
• Work through the daily task list, ensuring all duties are completed before the end of shift.
• Provide assistance to the Housekeeping and Restaurant teams.
• Perform any other tasks as and when assigned by the management.

Shifts will predominantly be from 9am – 6/7pm. You will be required to be flexible, also providing holiday cover for the night porters if required.

Part-time hours: 16-45 per week

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £8.72-£9.00 per hour

Commis Chef

We are looking for a Commis chef to join our kitchen team. You may have recently completed formal culinary training or still be undergoing training. This is an excellent opportunity to share and develop your skills and learn from our talented senior chefs.

The Role

-Set up station according to kitchen guidelines.
-Prepares all food items as directed in a timely manner.
-Follow recipes, portion control and presentation specifications as set by the Head chef.
-Restock all items as needed.
-Clean and maintain workstation.
-Know how to properly use and maintain all equipment in your station.
-Assist with the cleaning, sanitation and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers and storage areas.
-Perform additional responsibilities as requested by the Head chef and Sous chef.

Required Skills

-Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
-Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
-Ability to take direction.
-Ability to work in a team environment.
-Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
-Commitment to quality service and food and beverage knowledge.
-Good English language skills are required.
